These are the Ricoh GR Digital camera specifications as listed in the manual. I've included a few comments here and there.

Only available in black.
Date is maintained for one week without a battery in the camera.
RRP in UK is £399.
Also available in a 'Creative Kit' which includes the wide angle lens converter. See the Ricoh site.
Video Signal Format
NTSC, PAL
Power Source Voltage (one of the following)
- 2x AAA Dry Alkaline Batteries (1.5V)
- 1x Rechargable battery (3.7V)
- External Part (AC Adapter); 3.8V

Weight
Camera: Approximately 170g without battery, memory card and strap.
Tripod thread type
1/4-20 UNC
Operating Temperature Range
0 °C to 40 °C. This is disappointing for a camera aimed at professionals.
Operating Humidity Range
85% or less. This could be better. I'd like to see an all weather or waterproof version.
Sensor Details
Type/Size
1/1.8" CCD (7.18mm x 5.32mm)
Photo Detectors
8.3 million pixels
Effective Pixels
8.13 million pixels

Lens
Focal Length
F:5.9mm (equivalent to 28mm on a 35mm camera).
Aperture Range
f2.4-f11 in still image mode, f2.4 - F9.0 in other modes. I don't know why and if someone could tell me I'd be interested to know.
Shutter Speeds
- Still Image: 180 secs 1/2000 of a second
- Movie mode: 1/30 to 1/2000 of a second
Filter Thread
37mm with the adapter GH-1. Its a plastic tube that attaches around the lens. You cannot fit filters, hoods or the 21mm converter without it.
Shooting Distance
MACRO OFF - Approximately 0.3m to infinity from lens front
MACRO ON - Approximately 1.5cm to infinity from the lens front. Some users have commented that this feature offers poor performance but I love it. Yes, the AF can get confused and it takes a bit of patience to get it right but macro work is always fiddly. What can you expect of a camera in this price bracket. Macro photography requires specialised gear. But I've been getting good results with this feature and its a lot of fun.
Digital Zoom 4 times
Monitor Display
Screen Size
2.5 inch according to Ricoh. I don't get this. It measures 1.5 by 2 inches which is 3 sq inches.

- ISO sensitivity: AUTO*,64,100,200,400,800,1600.
* In AUTO ISO mode the ISO is not displayed on the screen and can only be viewed by checking the image file Exif details later. The GRD seems to chose the lowest possible ISO setting given the lighting conditions. How ISO choice is made is unknown at this time. (Firmware version 2.1 at the time of writing 19-4-06).

- multi AF (chooses focus based on several points)
- spot AF (chooses focus based on central point)
